The LHH Housing team are proud to be partnering with a Housing Association that is committed to providing exceptional service within its community. As a mid-sized organisation, they aim to maintain a collaborative and efficient working environment while supporting their employee's professional growth.


This is a permanent role due to internal promotion within the team.



Responsibilities include:


* Manage rent accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.


* Reconcile rent accounts and investigate any discrepancies effectively.


* Utilise Orchard system to monitor monthly and weekly debit runs


* Prepare and submit rent reports to senior management in a timely manner.


* Assist with budget preparation and forecasting related to rent income and expenditure.


* Assist with the compilation of annual service charge and sinking fund.


* Collaborate with other departments to resolve tenant account queries.


* Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and organisational policies.


* Support the Finance team with ad hoc duties as required.


The Successful Applicant


A successful Rent Accountant should have:


* Relevant qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA


* Proficiency in Orchard, SUN Accounts, and Vision Excel.


* Experience in designing and implementing financial controls.


* Strong technical knowledge of rent accounting principles within the social housing sector.


* A track record of working effectively within a finance team.


* Social housing rent and service charge accounting management, including write-offs


* Attention to detail and the ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.


* Excellent communication skills to engage with various stakeholders.
