LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Interim Plant Controller to support the wind-down of a manufacturing division in the Triad area of North Carolina. This is a critical role for a profitable and stable manufacturer undergoing a strategic transition. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in manufacturing accounting, cost control, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee plant accounting operations, including general ledger, cost accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
Prepare and analyze financial statements, cash flow reports, and P&L forecasts
Partner with leadership to establish budgets, forecasts, and operational benchmarks
Deliver actionable insights through financial analysis and performance reporting
Drive cost reduction initiatives, improve efficiency, and support strategic decisions
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and federal, state, and local regulations
Maintain consistent accounting policies and procedures across programs
Support internal and external audits
Lead and mentor a team of 3-4 accounting professionals
Assist in developing financial strategies during the division wind-down
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 3 years of plant or manufacturing accounting experience in an Assistant Plant Controller or Plant Controller role
Strong proficiency in Excel and ERP systems
Proven ability to manage cost accounting, inventory control, and financial reporting
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
