The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately processing weekly and bi?weekly payroll cycles for five locations, supporting a workforce of approximately 700 employees. This role ensures all payroll activities are completed on time, in compliance with company policies, federal and state regulations, and payroll best practices. This position is direct hire and will pay between $60K and $70K annually.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi?weekly payroll for 700 employees across five locations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and deductions.
- Review and validate timesheets, approved hours, overtime, PTO, bonuses, and special pay adjustments.
- Audit payroll reports prior to final submission to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, direct deposit, and tax forms.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.
- Coordinate with HR and management to resolve payroll?related issues promptly.
- Prepare payroll summaries, reports, and documentation for internal review and audits.
- Assist with year?end processes such as W?2 preparation and reconciliation.
Qualifications
- Experience processing multi?location, high?volume payroll cycles.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and payroll system workflows.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and problem?solving skills.
