We’re partnering with a growing organization that is looking for a self-directed Web Developer to independently rebuild and maintain its primary U.S. website. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable owning a website end-to-end, working with minimal supervision, and translating technical documentation into functional, stable web solutions.

You’ll take the lead on rebuilding an existing site—primarily using WordPress or a comparable CMS—while also implementing database-driven features and advising on ongoing improvements.

What You’ll Do

  • Rebuild and relaunch the U.S. website using WordPress or an equivalent platform (approx. 60%)

  • Develop and maintain database-driven functionality, including search widgets, API integrations, and backend components (approx. 25%)

  • Maintain site stability and performance, review technical documentation, and recommend enhancements or additional platforms as needed (approx. 15%)

  • Read and implement detailed PDF-based technical specifications

  • Communicate progress and updates via Slack

  • Work independently, managing priorities with minimal oversight

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with WordPress or a comparable CMS

  • Solid coding skills in HTML and SQL

  • Experience rebuilding or migrating websites from existing platforms

  • Comfort working independently without significant hand-holding

  • Ability to accurately follow and implement detailed technical documentation

  • Experience working with APIs and database-driven web components

Nice to Have

  • Experience evaluating or recommending alternative CMS platforms

  • Degree or certifications in web development or related fields (not required)

Work Environment

  • Fully remote

  • No dress code

  • Async communication with a focus on accountability and outcomes

Why This Role?

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and building practical web solutions without layers of bureaucracy. You’ll have the autonomy to rebuild, improve, and help shape the long-term direction of the site.
