LHH Recruitment Solutions has an Accounts Payable Supervisor position open with our client in Sunrise, FL. This is a full time, onsite, contract to hire role.
The Accounts Payable (AP) Supervisor leads a team responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant disbursements. This role oversees end to end AP operations—including invoice matching, exception resolution, vendor master governance, expense processing, and payment execution—while strengthening internal controls, optimizing working capital, and ensuring adherence to tax and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Disbursements & Terms Management
Oversee on time payment execution in line with vendor terms; maximize early pay/discount opportunities.
Invoice Resolution
Direct 2/3-way match activities; drive root cause correction with Purchasing and Receiving.
Credits, Reconciliations & Intercompany
Process vendor credits; reconcile intercompany AP/AR with trading partners; prepare monthly AP account reconciliations.
Tax & Year End Reporting
Identify and book missing/incorrect taxes; ensure data is uploaded to the tax platform for filings; prepare and file Forms 1099; collect and maintain W-9 documentation.
Vendor Management
Govern vendor master setup/changes; uphold documentation and segregation of duties standards; resolve remittance discrepancies and disputes.
Payment Operations
Initiate and approve ACH and wire batches per authority matrix; monitor outstanding checks and complete due diligence for unclaimed property/escheatment.
Employee Expenses
Review employee expense reports for policy compliance; ensure accurate GL coding and timely uploads.
Controls, Compliance & Audit
Maintain and improve AP policies, procedures, and internal controls; prepare audit schedules and respond to requests.
Capitalization & Month End
Review spend for capitalization, partner with Accounting on accruals and close tasks.
KPIs & Continuous Improvement
Define and publish monthly KPIs (e.g., on time pay, discount capture, invoice cycle time, exception rate), champion process and system improvements.
Cross Functional Collaboration
Strengthen communication with Purchasing, Receiving, Tax, Treasury, and FP&A to prevent recurrence of issues and improve upstream data quality.
Leadership
Train, coach, and performance manage the AP team; foster a culture of accuracy, urgency, and service.
Qualifications
Education: AA in Accounting or related discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Experience: 5+ years in Accounts Payable; 3+ years leading or supervising AP staff.
Technical: Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word; SAP ECC AP experience required.
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong grasp of P2P processes, sales/use tax basics, 1099/W-9, intercompany, and escheatment.
Analytical problem solver with attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
Clear written and verbal communication; ability to influence cross functionally.
Comfortable operating within a control oriented, audit ready environment.
Hourly Pay Range: $38.46-48.08/hr.
