Payroll Clerk
Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
Duration: Contract (8 months)
Pay Rate: $28–$32/hour
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support day-to-day payroll operations for a fast-paced organization. This role will assist with payroll processing, data entry, and administrative support while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working with confidential information.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with processing weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll
Enter and maintain employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, and deductions
Review timesheets for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Support payroll audits and reconciliations
Respond to basic employee payroll inquiries
Assist with filing, reporting, and payroll documentation
Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information
Support payroll team with special projects as needed
Qualifications
1+ year of payroll, accounting, or administrative experience
Basic understanding of payroll processes and wage/hour regulations
Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, UKG, or similar preferred)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic data entry
Nice to Have
Multi-state payroll exposure
Experience working in a hybrid or corporate office environment
Prior contract or temporary assignment experience
