LHH has partnered with a well-established law firm in the Pacific Northwest is seeking a Legal Practice Assistant with strong litigation experience to join its Seattle team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoys being a key support partner to attorneys.
Duties:
Draft and format legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, and exhibits for court filings.
Coordinate depositions, including scheduling and logistics with deponents and court reporters.
Maintain attorney calendars, manage docketing deadlines, and arrange travel.
Support attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials.
Proofread documents for accuracy and clarity.
Assist with time entry and billing coordination.
Open new matters and follow up on conflict checks.
Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
Handle vendor communications and invoice processing.
Submit reimbursement requests and expense reports through internal systems.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years’ litigation experience in both state and federal courts.
Strong understanding of litigation procedures, terminology, and court rules.
Ability to adapt to different work styles and anticipate attorney needs.
Professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and a sense of urgency in task execution.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, document management systems, and e-filing platforms.
Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required.
At least 5 years’ experience as a legal secretary or assistant in a law firm setting.
Notary certification is a plus.
