LHH is partnering with a well‑established, project‑driven organization headquartered in San Diego to identify an Accounts Receivable Specialist. This role will support a growing accounting team and play a key part in ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and clean receivables as the business continues to scale.

Position Overview

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage day‑to‑day AR activities including invoicing support, payment application, customer follow‑up, and account reconciliation. This position works cross‑functionally with internal teams and external customers to resolve discrepancies and support month‑end close.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply customer payments accurately across multiple payment methods

• Perform cash application and research unapplied or misapplied payments

• Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances in a professional and timely manner

• Communicate with customers regarding invoices, payment status, and account questions

• Maintain customer account records, including billing contacts and payment terms

• Assist with AR reconciliations and support month‑end close activities

• Provide documentation and explanations for audit or internal review requests

• Partner with internal teams to resolve billing or collection issues

• Prepare basic AR reporting and support continuous process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands‑on accounts receivable or general accounting experience

• Solid understanding of invoicing, cash application, and collections workflows

• Experience working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems

• Clear and professional communication skills when working with internal teams and external customers
