LHH is proactively seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented HR Generalist to join our client’s team on a contract basis in the Houston area. This role supports core HR operations across recruitment, employee relations, benefits support, and compliance while ensuring a smooth and positive employee experience.

Job Title: HR Generalist

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $28.00 – $38.00/hr (DOE)

Role Summary

As an HR Generalist, you will support day‑to‑day HR functions and serve as a resource for employees and leaders. This includes coordinating recruitment workflows, managing HR documentation, providing employee relations support, assisting with benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys being hands‑on across multiple HR responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and new-hire onboarding.

  • Conduct pre-employment checks and ensure accurate completion of onboarding documentation.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries while maintaining confidentiality.

  • Assist with employee issue resolution, escalating complex concerns to HR leadership as needed.

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, HRIS data, and personnel files.

  • Support compliance with company policies and federal/state employment laws.

  • Prepare HR correspondence, status change forms, and documentation requests.

Benefits Support

  • Assist with benefits enrollment, eligibility tracking, employee questions, and coordination with benefits administrators.

HR Operations & Reporting

  • Generate basic HR reports and assist with data audits.

  • Support HR programs, training coordination, and employee engagement initiatives.

  • Assist with special projects within HR as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.

  • Experience:

    • 2+ years in HR support, HR generalist work, or a related HR administrative role.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; HRIS experience strongly preferred.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Organization: Strong multitasking and time‑management abilities.

  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy in documentation, data entry, and recordkeeping.

  • Professionalism: Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • Teamwork: Able to collaborate effectively with employees and HR leadership.
