LHH are delighted to be partnering with an International Law Firm to recruit for a Senior Legal Cashier.


An established and respected London law firm is seeking a Senior Legal Cashier to lead and coordinate its cashiering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives in a busy finance environment within legal services.


Location: Central London (Hybrid working may be available after training/probation)


Hybrid working - 2-3 days a week in the London office


About the Role


The Senior Legal Cashier will oversee, supervise, and support a small cashiering team, ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency. The role involves a mix of hands-on cashiering duties and managerial responsibilities, including:


  • Overseeing daily operations and supporting team members
  • Managing and resolving queries
  • Completing bank reconciliations and posting invoices and receipts
  • Monitoring suspense and charity donation ledgers
  • Handling residual client balances and write-offs
  • Maintaining compliance registers and ensuring internal controls are effective
  • Setting up users on financial systems (Bankline, online payment platforms, etc.)
  • Training and supporting new and temporary staff

About You


You will have prior experience working in a legal finance team, ideally with supervisory responsibilities. You'll be proactive, detail-oriented, and confident managing competing priorities in a fast-paced professional environment.


Essential skills and experience:


  • Experience supervising or managing a small finance/cashiering team
  • Strong understanding of legal cashiering processes and SRA Accounts Rules
  • Experience using electronic case management and accounting systems
  • Excellent numerical accuracy, organisation, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general IT systems
