Audit Partner / Audit Director (RI)


Location: West Midlands

We're working with a high-growth, mid-tier professional services firm that is seeking an Audit Partner or Audit Director (Responsible Individual) to help lead and expand its Not-for-Profit and Public Sector audit capability across the West Midlands.


This is a senior strategic hire within a recently established regional presence, offering significant autonomy to shape audit strategy, build a team, and drive growth in key regulated sectors.

The opportunity


You will take responsibility for an existing Midlands-based audit portfolio while playing a central role in developing market presence, winning new work and growing audit fee income over the medium to long term. Capacity is already in place for further client development and team expansion.


This opportunity would suit:


  • An existing Audit Partner seeking greater strategic influence and regional ownership, or
  • An Audit Director / RI ready to step into a Partner role within a growing firm

Key responsibilities


  • Lead and oversee audit engagements across not-for-profit and public sector clients
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of audit strategy across specialist sectors
  • Build and develop the regional audit team, including recruitment and mentoring at senior level
  • Lead and support tender and framework opportunities within the region
  • Actively contribute to business development and profile-raising within your sectors

About you


  • Responsible Individual (RI) with experience controlling audit portfolios in regulated or public interest sectors
  • Strong commercial mindset with proven or demonstrable business development capability
  • Experienced people leader with a track record of building and developing teams
  • Confident, credible communicator able to influence senior stakeholders
  • Motivated by autonomy, growth and long-term strategic impact
